Welcome to The Wheeler, a quarterly, seasonal publication embracing the increasingly vibrant cycling scene – the people, the bikes, the tradition, the rides, the fashion and, naturally, the coffee and camaraderie. This is what The Wheeler celebrates – the spirit of cycling in all its guises, from gritty competition, to bunch rides, café mateship, the lycra regalia of the corporates, and the never-to-be-forgotten hardy, passionate, two-wheel commuter.
Our purpose in starting The Wheeler is to celebrate cycling and cyclists. A little over a century ago pushbikes changed the world … and they and their riders are doing so again.
The Wheeler is published in Melbourne, but with writers, photographers, contributors and aficionados scattered around the country and around the globe – we offer the reader a rich, entertaining and fascinating look at how, why and what other riders are doing, wearing and thinking.
From the June 2011 issue, The Wheeler will be a FREE publication. It will be distributed around Australia to mostly cafes and bike shops. You will find a comprehensive list of where you can pick it up at the end of May on the “Where to find THE WHEELER” page.
If you are a current subscriber you will have received an email explaining the new arrangements and what your options are. If you did not receive an email, please phone Audrey on 03 9670 1168.

Saw your magazine yesterday in Velocino’s & it immediately drew my attention as its content was Melbourne based. The quality of the magazine from articles, photography and overall finish was extremely impressive, a perfect size I might add. What made it more inviting was the breadth of the content, i.e. not really a main focus on one or two types of cycling culture.
Keep up the good work and thanks for something refreshing.
